Here is some history. The picture here shows the late Kyai (pronounced ki-ai) Abdur-rahman Wahid or more popularly known as Gus Dur.
Abdur-rahman Wahid was the leader of the 30 million strong religious organisation called the Nadhlatul Ulama or Nahdatul Ulama of Indonesia which was founded by his grandfather Hashim Asya’ari in 1926. Here is their logo.
After the fall of Suharto in 1998 Gus Dur also became the first elected president of the Republic of Indonesia in modern times. Gus Dur was a totally lack lustre and ineffective President of the Republic. The Indonesians were only too happy to see him go.
During his presidency the following scandalous picture was splashed across the Indonesian media. Gus Dur never denied the authenticity of this picture. The young woman sitting on his lap is Aryanti Boru Sitepu. Here is the story:

Ariyanti mendakwa gambar yang menjadi bukti hubungan sulitnya dengan Gus Dur itu dirakamkan pada tahun 1996 di bilik 107, Hotel Harco, Jalan Raden Salleh, Jakarta oleh salah seorang pekerja hotel berkenaan atas permintaan Gus Dur.
Terdapat pihak yang menganggap ia adalah rekaan komputer, namun dua pakar iaitu pakar multimedia yang juga Pensyarah Universiti Gajah Mada, R.M Roy Suryo dan jurufoto profesional terkenal Indonesia, Darwis Triadi ‘mengesahkan’ ia adalah foto asli.

These religious leaders seem to be constantly preoccupied with women. It is always woman, woman, woman, sex, sex, sex. They are either constantly scolding women for one thing or another OR they have the women sitting on their laps.
Anyway here is one more picture. This is Gus Dur visiting Anwar Ibrahim at his RM7 million mansion in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur on August 12, 2008. I suppose they were comparing notes. Gus Dur died in 2009.
