Lim Guan Eng sees red over ‘sewage concern’ and ‘feng shui’ report
“If you do not want the land, others do. This is something happy… but only The Star is unhappy.
“Please do not make something happy (become) unhappy,” Lim told a press conference and accused the daily of “spreading lies” and running the state government down.
Lim said the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) who was there to receive a RM50,000 gift from Lim Guan Eng, was supportive of the move to sell the land for churches and temples.
Lim said there is nothing wrong with the land at all.
“It appears that the condo-loving developer friends of the DAP declined the swampy and smelly land, hence the attempt to dispose of it by offering to temples and churches.”
Gerakan VP A Kohilan pointed out that after initial check and on-ground visit, the land was located right next to 3 huge sewage ponds which are open aired and emit a foul odour. It is a no brainer that the place is totally unsuitable for housing let alone for places of worship.
He said the Penang state government did not tell the actual surroundings of the land to the people in a press conference with the intention to score cheap publicity.
“It appears that the condo-loving developer friends of the DAP declined the swampy and smelly land, hence the attempt to dispose of it by offering to temples and churches.” said Kohilan.
Okay.. on the ground checks show it is unsuitable. Aerial photographs also show the sites are right next to the 3 big sewage ponds.
But what I don’t understand is that the two posts with the plot maps of the area in Lim Guan Eng’s official page had the sewage ponds blanked out.
If Lim Guan Eng said the 3 sewage ponds are not a problem, then can you explain why you needed to blank them out in your FB page and also in your press conference?
Is there something you wanted to hide?
