Oops! Anwar Did It Again!

Source: Tunku Aisha

While Malaysians are still quarreling over kangkungs and religious words, a travesty that almost went unnoticed is Anwar’s manipulative press statement that blamed the Malaysian Foreign Ministry for his denial of entry to Japan yesterday. In its usual attention-seeking tradition, PKR today demanded Putrajaya rescind an unwarranted report on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim allegedly sent to the Japanese government and which prevented the opposition leader’s entry into Tokyo yesterday. Anwar claims he had been invited by Nippon Foundation chair Yohei Sasakawa to present a paper on Muslim Democrats. This is the second invitation since he first went there on April 19, 2011.

Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman denied Anwar’s allegation that Wisma Putra had a hand in barring him entry into Japan. He clarified that under Japan’s Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, the Japanese government had the right to deny entry to any person who had been previously convicted or imprisoned in either Japan or any other country.

What lurks behind this seemingly innocent denial of entry that compelled Anwar to create such an outcry over this ban? Simple. Anwar failed to tell us that his host, Yohei Sasakawa, is the son of Sasakawa Ryoichi – the creator of the gambling industry that we know today. Imprisoned as a Class A war criminal after World War II, Sasakawa is viewed with hostility by intellectuals internationally.  Most importantly, Sasakawa is the founder of the Yakuza in Japan.

The Yakuza or gokudo is the world’s largest criminal organization and represent transnational organized crime syndicates in Japan. As depicted in movies, the Yakuza are notorious for their strict codes of conduct and very organized nature. Hence, the Japanese media carry stories about Yakuza who operate internationally with an estimated 103,000 members.

Now, what is the TRUE reason Anwar wanted to go to Japan so desperately? Could there be a hidden link to the Yasukuni Shrine controversy?

After WW2, arrest orders were given for 126 Japanese suspects on Class-A (crime against peace) charges and this was narrowed to 14. Of those who were released without charge included Kishi Nobusuke (Abe Shinzo’s grandfather) and Sasakawa Ryoichi who promoted the anti-communist alliance with the United States. The Yasukuni Shrine claims to host the deified souls of military personnel who lost their lives in service to the nation. The controversy arose after 1978 when the new chief priest of the Yasukunia added 14 wartime military and civilian leaders who were executed as Class A criminals by decisions of the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal or who died during imprisonment to the list of souls enshrined at the shrine.

Many Japanese doubt the legal, ethical, and factual legitimacy of the tribunal hence any Japanese political leader’s visit to the shrine (such as Japanese PM Abe Shinzo’s visit in December 26 visit last year) triggers much criticism. Yoichi Sato, a professor of international strategic studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, wrote The Yasukuni Puzzle which sheds more light on the deep implications of the Yasukuni controversy. You can download it here.

Once you read the paper, you will begin to understand why the Japanese government does not want Anwar to visit Japan to be in the company of prominent personalities.  Do not fall for Anwar’s lies.

S’GOR SHENANIGAN: MB Khalid has overstepped the limit, Anwar must replace him even if not with Azmin

The spat between Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and state PKR chief Azmin Ali is causing a growing split in the party with de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) having to make a decision soon to avoid any fallout.

Sources say Anwar is walking a fine line in the widening dispute between the PKR deputy president, who is his chief lieutenant, and the popular Khalid in a rivalry that began when the latter became menteri besar in 2008.
What is the top gay guy ask Datuk Khalid to resign and Datuk Khalid refuses? Can the top gay guy do anything to force Datuk Khalid now? Will all the PR ADUN vote no confidence against Datuk Khalid?

I think the top gay guy mojo is just about expended

Datuk Seri Najib Razak has directed mandatory media training for his ministers to prevent more missteps that have made his administration a laughing stock among Malaysians.

The prime minister’s second term has been marked by “foolish” remarks from several ministers that spawned Internet memes and jokes detrimental to Putrajaya’s image.

Another case of “band-Aid” or “handy-plast” actions. No amount of media training will help this lot, the problem is their arrogance and sense of entitlement. What they all have in common is the way they look down on the rakyar of Malaysia. No amount of media training will not change this. They have spent so many years being able to utter rubbish statements without anyone being able to reply, they cannot change. They still have not grasped the reality of the internet. They are still living in the Mahathir era.

It’s the caliber of the cabinet thats the problem. No amount of media media training gonna solve that. Another example of the present admin not addressing the cause of the problem. Prescribing aspirin for headache cause by brain tumour.

Just like a father crab teaching the children crabs to walk straight. This shows how dumb and out of touch the PM is. By the way what happen to all the janji ditepati promised. When a minister is stupid, he is stupid. No amount of training and re-training will be able to correct that. Did not Mahathir say that UMNO leaders who remain in power for too long will leave behind leaders who are more stupid than them?

Umno uses many crooked strategies to win elections and stay in power and then steal billions. The strategies include: creating racial tension, gerrymandering, slandering and harassing the opposition by using the monopolised media, the lackey police, the lackey MACC and the kangaroo justice system, and by getting the lackey Election Commission to conduct fraudulent elections by allowing phantoms and foreigners to vote, etc.

Umno previously created racial tension by using cow and pig heads. Then they discovered that the Allah word was an ‘allah-send’ to create tension and polarisation and to impress and show the majority Malays, especially those in the rural areas, that they are protectors and champions of Islam.

Since as a result of massive and unfair gerrymandering Umno can now retain power by just getting about 15 percent of the popular vote from the deliberately created small constituencies in the rural Malay areas, Najib and Umno will continue to use the Allah issue for political gain.

Kelakuan Orang Cina Indonesia, Anda Mau Tahu?

Instant movie mogul, Red Granite’s Riza Aziz a/l Rosmah, has purchased a secret Hollywood mansion in the most expensive part of Beverly Hills overlooking LA. Mr Aziz, who earlier spent some three years working in London for HSBC, purchased 912 N Hillcrest Road for $17.5million in September 2010.

The property sprawls over 11,500 square feet and has 5 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. It looks out over an enormous swimming pool and views of West Hollywood. It is is flanked by gracious avenues and neighbouring vast residences, mostly belonging to big names in the movie business.

Malaysians reacted in astonishment over Christmas when Mr Aziz’s multi-million dollar New York property was brought to public attention.

Perhaps now they will be less surprised to learn that the youthful Malaysian, who is seeking to invest in the movies, has sought to make his main base in Hollywood with an even grander accommodation there?

However, once again, there is the valid question as to how he came by such enormous sums of money?

It is one thing to claim that you have persuaded 3rd party investors to risk hundreds of millions of dollars on films, but quite another to be purchasing personal properties.

As a politically exposed person in Malaysia Mr Aziz and his family are currently being pressed to explain how he or his family were able to finance such an extremely expensive series of homes, quite apart from raising hundreds of millions to bankroll movies like Wolf of Wall Street?

PKR vice-president Tian Chua has been sentenced to a month’s jail for disobeying police orders to leave the police training centre (Pulapol), a protected area, after the Bersih 3.0 rally two years ago.

Tian Chua, who is also Batu MP, was charged on May 15, 2012 after he allegedly disobeyed police orders to leave Pulapol after his release at 2.30am on April 29, 2012.

He was arrested with 512 others after the Bersih 3.0 rally for electoral reform in the Kuala Lumpur ended.

Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge Mahmud Abdullah granted a stay of execution pending appeal but the deputy public prosecutor objected and asked the court not to grant bail.

Under the law, an MP who is jailed for a year or more and slapped with a fine of RM2,000 or more will be disqualified and a by-election will be held.

PETALING JAYA: The drama over Nurul Izzah Anwar’s divorce took a new twist.

She was expected to file her withdrawal of divorce petition at the lower Syariah Court in Jalan Duta, according to sources close to the family.

It is understood that family members had persuaded the couple to work things out after news broke online that Nurul had filed for divorce in late December.

On Twitter, at around 2pm, Nurul Izzah was asked on Twitter by Mohd Saiful Ahmad (@msaiful82): “salam, betul ke akak tuntut fasakh….keluar news… (Did you ask for a divorce? It is out in the news).”

The Lembah Pantai MP replied: “wassalam. Nope.”

Does it mean that the husband wanted to divorce her? On account of saying Malays can choose religion?

How to become PM like that?

He feels that he is superior to others so he does not need to ask for special permission even though he has been to jail and found to be a criminal by the courts. He was definitely given the reason but he did not reveal the truth – and only told his side of the story – not the real story.
If a person is found to be a criminal in any court of law — he has to apply and if there is compelling reason, Japan will provide him with a visa to enter Japan. Prior to July last year (and another period of time about 20 years ago), every Malaysia has to apply for a Visa to enter Japan. He applied before and was given permission to enter. Now there is no need to apply for a Visa – unless you are a criminal – and he is found by an internationally recognized court to be a criminal.

Najib is either badly advised or is misleading the public. If the cabinet stands firm on the 10 point solution, then the Home Ministry should not ban “Allah” Bibles. That is a federal government action, not a state action. Will he instruct the AG to record consent judgment in the current appeal to the Federal Court? Further, it is embarrassing that the leader of the government should surrender power to mere state leaders. Since Merdeka, BN has been touting streamlining and consistency as their forte in governance. When the federal government makes a decision, the states enact consistent legislations. What’s the use of keeping BN in power when this is no longer their forte? If Najib is serious about the 10 point solution, BN states which have contradicting positions should immediately amend their legislations. Najib should also ask Pakatan states to do the same. BN has painted itself into a corner, putting state rulers on a pedestal. It seems that time for reckoning has arrived.

All eyes on BN: Will it accept the Pakatan’s offer of a Summit to resolve national issues – Written by Lim Kit Siang

The Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor told The Malaysian Insider that the proposal by Pakatan Rakyat leaders for a Barisan Nasional-Pakatan Rakyat Leaders’ Summit will be discussed by the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting tomorrow.

I welcome the prompt response of the Barisan Nasional in convening its Supreme Council tomorrow and hope that the BN Supreme Council will give a positive response to the PR proposal for a summit of the leaders of both coalitions to assure Malaysians that there could not be another May 13 riots, although there are irresponsible and reckless elements seeking to incite racial and religious hatred, conflict and tension to create the conditions for another May 13 in the country.

The proposal by the Pakatan Rakyat leaders from PKR, PAS and DAP stem from their love and patriotism to Malaysia and I hope that the Barisan Nasional leaders could be similarly motivated by their love and patriotism to Malaysia to give a positive response to hold the first BN-PR Leaders’ Summit in the nation’s history.

    Summit secretariat

If the BN Supreme Council gives a positive response tomorrow, I suggest that BN and PR form a joint Summit secretariat comprising three representatives each to decide on the Summit’s date, place and agenda.

I am sure that all Malaysians look forward to the successful holding of the first BN-PR Leaders’ Summit.

PR leaders have proposed the agenda to assure Malaysians that there could not be another May 13. The Summit could also deal with the quintuplet of the national crisis in the country, national unity and nation building, economic, educational, security and the worsening corruption in the country.

Lim Kit Siang is the DAP adviser
This proposal stank too much of a dialogue request from the top gay guy and therefore will be rejected by BN.

What’s the point of a summit?

DS Najib already has zero power as he is now a kangkung PM. There is nobody in BN that can make any call now.

And who is going to moderate the summit? Everybody in Malaysia is either a kangkung follower, extremist BN or liberal smart PR.

Even if BN want to have a summit, deciding on a moderator and the format for the summit will probably takes months and by the time May 13 2014 version may already have taken place.

How not to be a laughing stock? Khai Loon probed for CRIMINALLY DEFAMING NAJIB WITH ‘KANGKUNG’

Machang Bubuk assemblyman Lee Khai Loon is being investigated for criminal defamation over his “I Love Kangkung” flash mob.

Lee, who gave his statement to the police this afternoon at his service centre in Alma near Bukit Mertajam, said he was interviewed by Seberang Perai Tengah senior investigation officer Hasan Mohd Salleh for 40 minutes.

“I related what happened and explained to the police the purpose of the flash mob.

“It was meant to highlight the price hike issue that is a burden on the people,” he told reporters later.

Section 500 of the Penal Code, which outlines the penalty for defamation, stipulates that “whoever defames another shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.”

Lee said he regretted that 10 people – eight from Jitra, Kedah; one from Bukit Mertajam and one from Raub, Pahang – had lodged police reports, despite the fact that the flash mob was held peacefully.
One month for Tian Chua therefore at least two months for this Lee Khai Loon.

They gained only notriety, the image of am extremist and racist party, liked by their followers, but becoming more hated by the vast majority – including PAS supporters, many of whom are not like PAS members and hate the idea of non-Muslims using the kalimah Allah.

Remember, according to figures conveyed by the Registrar of Societies when trying to correct the illegal acts of DAP on the CEC Election and Re-Election issue, DAP has only about 2,500 members. So, how small the number of Malaysians they could influence on their own steam.

Maybe that’s the reason she filed for divorce? Then denied it. Then admitted it. And asked the public not to intrude into her private affairs. What private affairs she wants to have as a politician. Privacy is no more the moment she goes into politics. That happens to all politicians. Even her private parts may no longer be private.

      • Anonymous says:

Are Malaysia Kini and Malaysia Chronicle not sympathetic with their Oppo Hippo colleague, Nurul Izzah? Here’s the gist of an article they both published:

Nurul Izzah’s decision to file a petition to annul her marriage may have political ramifications. The circumstances surrounding her petition, alleged in both news reports and blogs, could soil her reputation.

In reporting the petition, several news organisations linked Nurul to another man, with one news portal delving into items of gossip, but later removing the salacious but unattributed information from its original article.

Will she be able to emerge from this storm intact? And as a key leader in PKR, what kind of impact will this have on the party?
Speaking on condition of anonymity, party insiders close to her agreed that whether or not the rumours are true, the timing of the petition was bad.

With nominations for party polls expected in March, Nurul had handed detractors both within and outside PKR ammunition by choosing to file her petition late last month.

Party insiders said, “When the (fissures in the marriage) surfaced, we made the risks clear to her. We said, ‘If you cannot resolve it, then naturally the daggers will come out internally’.

“Yes, she did have marital problems, but there are always both sides… She may have to later clear her name.

“We told her that she has to be aware that if she files (for an annulment), it will impact on her career and the party,” said one PKR leader.

One member who studies PKR’s electoral support said that while the divorce petition is not a concern, allegations of a third party could diminish support particularly among Malays.
He said Malay society has different standards for male and female politicians – and a woman who is rumoured to have strayed from home would be judged more harshly.

“There will be a haemorrhage (of support) and we’re not just talking about Kerinchi or Pantai Dalam (the lower-income Malay-majority areas in her constituency of Lembah Pantai),” he added.

There is also frustration within the party rank and file that after so many attacks on Anwar Ibrahim’s character, there will yet again be an alleged ‘scandal’ to explain and defend.
They said that attacks could also come from Pakatan Rakyat partners who use morality as a yardstick to measure leadership.

They are also concerned that the matter could be dragged into the public realm through the court process.

“Whether we like her or not, she is a symbol of the party. People will relate this to Anwar, it is his daughter. We have to protect Anwar,” said one party operative.

Such sentiments are echoed within factions of the party who see Nurul as part of a ‘feudal’ structure within PKR – with Anwar as king, his wife and party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as queen and Nurul, the princess.

Political scientist James Chin said that the next 48 hours will be crucial in determining how it will all play.

He said while other politicians have survived similar scandals, none were Malay, Muslim women.

“For the Chinese, these things are a private matter and has no bearing on her professional ability. The middle class Malays, who are her support base, are also more likely to draw that line,” he said.

“She may have difficulties with voters in Kerinchi and Pantai Dalam as they have a different worldview where things may be more black and white, but if you look at the election numbers, she lost in those areas,” he said.

If she goes through with the divorce proceedings and people are fed more salacious details of her private affairs, votes’ goodwill will wear off. “It will be a circus,” said Chin.

public sentiment may be different “if Nurul had a face like the back of a bus and was a bossy, bitchy politician who always came out with stupid statements.”

“But this issue goes beyond the privacy debate. It is about a young politician who needs to learn to deal with a personal problem while in the limelight. That is what prime ministers and presidents do.

not one who needs to be mollycoddled and for naysayers to be silenced unfairly: “We are, after all, advocating free speech.”

OPENLY THREATENING! Najib can only survive with Mahathir as ‘MENTOR’

With surging pressure from all corners, arising from price hike to racial and religious harmony, a UMNO veteran opines that Najib Razak’s position as Prime Minister is under threat, even from within UMNO-BN.

However, it is still not too late for Najib to save his political career, opined Zainuddin Maidin, by appointing former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as his mentor.

“Najib can lead but he needs moral support from Dr Mahathir to strengthen his position.

“This is so that he can continue to lead and succeed in restoring the people’s confidence as well as handle current issues which could surface,” Zainuddin told a local news portal recently.

Mahathir’s mentor role, he said, would be similar to Lee Kuan Yew’s in Singapore.

A message stating the Selangor state government is offering housing loans is being circulated.

The message states that the loan is for those between 18 and 45 years old, do not own any property in Selangor, earn RM7,000 and below and born or have lived more than 10 years in Selangor.

Exco Iskandar Abdul Samad said the contact person listed in the message had been receiving many calls enquiring about the loan.

“The address is that of an office of a Pakatan Rakyat elected representative while the contact person is the rep’s assistant.

“They had to explain to the callers and visitors that the message was a hoax, and this caused a lot of anger, ” he said.

SHOCK! Msia’s MOST PRIVILEGED students do worse than Spore’s most UNDER-PRIVILEGED – Written by Zairil Khir Johari

Education system in an alarming crisis when even the most privileged Malaysian students perform worse than the most under-privileged Singaporeans.

The crisis in the Malaysian education system was confirmed in the 2012 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) results, released in early December last 2013.

Not only did our 15-year-old students fare far below average, placing 55th overall out of 65 participating countries, our average scores for all three categories (science, mathematics and reading) were worse compared to neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Thailand and even Vietnam.

Compounding the disappointing results in the latest PISA report is the fact that our students’ poor performance is not merely a one-off affair, but actually part of a steady downtrend that is evident not only in the last few PISA results but also reflected in the quadrennial Trends in International Maths and Science Study (TIMSS), which has shown a consistent drop in mathematics and science performances over the last decade.
Look like that confirm it. Malaysia will be a failed state soon. Bankruptcy for sure.

Tony Pua has confirmed it and Tony is never wrong. He sit on the right side of Paul Krugman when it comes to economic analysis and projection.

But hang on. Aren’t super economist Tony, super clever super ego PG1, the super lembut MP of Pandan and super lembut Kedah DAP head (syok sendiri) also all from the same low PISA score school system?

The RETURN of Dr M: Be very careful what you wish for – Guan Eng warns M’sians

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is not the answer to resolving a seemingly rudderless and directionless Malaysia, says DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

“Be careful what you wish for, be very careful what you wish for,” Lim said during a DAP fund-raiser at the Petaling Jaya Civic Centre yesterday.

“If Dr Mahathir comes back, what will you get? Project Mahathir (indiscriminate issuance of identity cards to illegal immigrants in Sabah), preventive laws like the Internal Security Act?” Lim asked.

He said cronyism and corruption would then reach incredible levels if Dr Mahathir were to return to Putrajaya.

“Let us not forget the continued emasculation of the independence of Malaysia’s judiciary and kangaroo trials,” Lim said during a question-and-answer session at the dinner.

Lim told the 650-strong audience that he understood that Malaysia had no direction and was apparently rudderless, saying the problem had been caused by Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Memang tension masa tu. Turun naik tangga KDN, berulang-alik Penjara Sg.

The ball game apparently is to ‘topple’ PM Najib from his position as president of Umno . The non-Muslims and non- Umno members just become collateral damage of such internal power struggle within the party. The plot using such extremist tactics is to put Najib on a defence. Remember May 13th 1969’s tactic of kicking out the then PM Tunku Abdul Rahman? Why Penang – obvious isn’t it? It is a government headed by ‘Chinese’ DAP (as though in the past the Gerakan-led BN govt was not Chinese?). See the pattern. Penang Umno acted like samseng to protest against the kangkung flash mob incident turning it into a racial issue. Penang Umno’s involvement – though distanced itself from some NGO, on its memo protesting the open sale of pork on the island? Another unheard of act; over 1,000 Umno grassroots members presented an unusual show of force to its leaders (actually the message is for Najib)at the party HQ urging PM to be more stern on non-Muslims using the word ‘Allah’. BUT HOW SINCERE IS UMNO? Zahid welcomes Anwar’s proposal for Pakatan & BN to work together

PUTRAJAYA – Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has welcomed calls by Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on working towards a national consensus, adding that it is a positive way forward.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Umno Vice President, said Umno and Barisan Nasional leaders should be open to such proposals, adding that it shows the openness of Pakatan Rakyat in working with the government in solving national issues.

“This is something that has never happened before. Therefore, I welcome the proposal because among the aspects that can be discussed are ways to combat crime.

“We do not differentiate people when it comes to combating crime,” said Ahmad Zahid in a press conference after delivering his New Year address at his ministry here today.

Asked if the matter will be brought to the Cabinet in its next meeting, Ahmad Zahid said he will leave the matter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.

On Sunday, Anwar had called on Malaysians and politicians from both sides of the political divide to work towards a national consensus to address issues affecting religious and racial harmony, rising cost of living, corruption and security.

PENANG UNDER ATTACK: Guan Eng warns of real danger from RACISTS & BIGOTS

In this critical hour with shadowy extremist and racist forces conducting sustained aggression to destabilise the Penang state government, 1.6 million Penangites must reaffirm commitment for the past 200 years to protect, preseve and promote respect for cultural diversity, racial and religious harmony by rejecting both violence and hatred.

Over the last 1 week, Malaysians witnessed ugly scenes of racial hatred and violence manifested in these incidents attended by top UMNO leaders, elected representatives, members and supporters in Penang.

A rally in Seberang Jaya on January 18th protesting against the ‘I Love Kangkung’ flash mob organised by PKR Machang Bubuk assemblyperson Lee Khai Loon. Despite this being organized by PKR, DAP was blamed with Lim Kit Siang and myself targeted and threats of May 13 riots issued. I hope they’ll come out as soon as the situation gets out of hand – if a flare up occurs. I am also sure they are watching the situation closely, have troops on standby near Penang island, as their role includes maintaining security for the country.

Internal security (the primary responsibility of the Police) is of interest to the Army (whose primary role is the security of the country from external threat) as it can make outside forces try a foreign adventure on Malaysia. Anwar Ibrahim to run for Kajang, Khalid to stay on as MB “for the time being”

UPDATE4 PETALING JAYA – Selangor Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim has named Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim as the PKR candidate for the Kajang seat that is due for a by-election after the incumbent suddenly resigned a day ago.

Speculation had run wild that 42-year-old lawyer Lee Chin Cheh had quit his seat to pave the way for either Anwar or fast-rising MP for Pandan Rafizi Ramli to replace the fumbling Khalid as the Selangor chief minister

However, Khalid’s appearance at a joint-press conference this morning shows that the 66-year-old Anwar had managed to convince Khalid and Azmin Ali, the PKR deputy president, to come to some form of compromise.

    Strategic decision

It is believed that the final decision on whether Anwar would really go for the state seat was made late last night. “We are still strategizing. Anything that involves Anwar has national implications, so we have to be very very careful,” a PKR insider had told Malaysia Chronicle.

Indeed PKR watchers now believe that Anwar will allow Khalid to stay on as chief minister “for the time being” despite growing complaints from Pakatan Rakyat coalition members DAP and PAS that Khalid had become ‘dictatorial’ in the way he ran the Selangor state government.

Nation on fragile ground, warns Kit Siang – BY JENNIFER GOMEZ – January 28,

It only takes a spark to set off another May 13, said a worried Lim Kit Siang (pic) as he called on Malaysians to quell tension plaguing the country now.

The DAP adviser said this was the reason he had asked Penang PKR assemblyman Lee Khai Loon to apologise for stuffing kangkung into an effigy of the prime minister during a flash mob in Penang two weeks ago.

He said it was also why he has been crusading for Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat to form a secretariat to discuss issues plaguing the country.

“The situation has become very unhealthy, with drawn-out stoking of religious and racial tension for the past eight months,” he told The Malaysian Insider today.

Lim, who is Gelang Patah MP, is worried that the currently escalating tension could lead to a scenario similar to the black day in Malaysian history almost 45 years ago.

He also expressed concern that the police and authorities were standing by and doing nothing about the situation.

“While the majority of the rakyat want peace, all it takes is for a small percentage of people to go haywire, to spark another racial riot,” Lim warned.

Citing the recent Allah banner placed outside five churches in Penang and the molotov cocktail that was thrown into a chuch compound in Lebuh Farquhar in Penang in the wee hours of Sunday morning, Lim cautioned that there were certain quarters out to undermine harmony by engaging in these acts.

He was one of those who made racist speeches on the so-called Malaysian Malaysia theme, wanting equality without acknowledging the Special Position of the Malays and the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak, during the election campaigns of 1969, making snide remarks and innuendos on the Ketuanan Melayu etc, all those that sparked the race riots on 13 May that year.

Now he wants to talk on a moral high ground, talking tongue in cheek, the son of a so and so. He should have advised his son Guan Eng not to raise the kalimah Allah issue in his Christmas message in 2012. Now all those have reared its ugly head in Penang, Molotov cocktails thrown, etc. On that score, Guan Eng must be held responsible if racial clashes occur.

Guan Eng should be appealing, again and again, to all those concerned not to aggravate the situation and refrain completely from mentioning the kalimah Allah issue in speeches and even in private conversations where he could be misheard and misinterpreted.

CLEAR FOR ALL TO SEE: M’sia under Umno turning into an EXTREME & OPPRESSIVE Islamic regime

Malaysia is heading towards an oppressive Islamist regime for allowing state enactments to take precedence over the Federal Constitution on the religious freedom of non-Muslims, a Sarawak opposition leader said.

LKY: Once relaxed, Malaysians now toast each other with syrups
    By Boo Su-Lyn -August 7, 2013

Malaysia will remain a Malay-Muslim country that has become “much more orthodox” in the decades since the nation’s independence under its first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew has written in his latest book.

“Once upon a time, they were relaxed,” Lee wrote in his book, One Man’s View of the World, that was launched in the island republic last night.

“Now, under the influence of the Middle Eastern states, they are much more orthodox. They used to serve liquor at dinners and drink with you. When I was there, the Tunku would invite his friends over and drink whisky and brandy with them.

“Now, they toast each other in syrups,” he added.

In a Q&A section in the book, Lee was asked if Malaysia could become more like Turkey than Saudi Arabia, in the sense of becoming “relatively open, imbibing some of the more international values”.

Lee, who turns 90 next month, was also asked if Malaysia could become a “progressive Muslim country”, to which he replied: “You believe that? What do you mean by a progressive Muslim country?

“That they will not wear their headdress, that they will shake hands, men and women, and sit down, that a non-Muslim can be drinking beer and have a Muslim sit down and drink coffee with him?”

Lee also wrote that Malaysians counting on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia concept to usher in a new era of race relations are being unrealistic, while those banking on opposition pact Pakatan Rakyat (PR) were not very much less so.

The influential leader noted that the 1Malaysia slogan had failed to gain traction with the Malays.

Lee said that it was “impossible” for Najib to win Chinese and Indian support without losing votes from Umno’s core supporters – the Malays.

He also criticised PR, calling it an “opportunistic ad-hoc group not held together by even vaguely coherent set of ideas but by a common desire to unseat the government”.

Lee argued that when it comes to the crunch, PR would not be able to do away with Malay supremacy.

“The moment the bluff is called and it is handed the full power to push ahead it will either be torn apart from within or be paralysed by indecision,” he said.

In his book, Lee had also pointed out that Malaysia’s acute brain drain problem is due to its government’s insistence on promoting “one race” above all others.

Malaysia experiences a severe talent flight issue with an estimated 5 per cent of skilled locals exiting the country on an annual basis, with the main beneficiary being Singapore.

Lee stepped down as prime minister in 1990, handing power to Goh Chok Tong, but remaining influential as senior minister in Goh’s cabinet and subsequently as “minister mentor” when Lee Hsien Loong became prime minister in 2004.

The elder Lee resigned from his cabinet position in 2011 after his long-ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) stumbled to its worst electoral showing since independence in 1965.

During his time, Lee shared rocky ties with contemporary Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

In their previous books, Lee Kuan Yew: Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going and A Doctor in the House: The Memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the two traded acerbic remarks about each other.
Did the super intellectual Lee Kuan Yew envisage that this kind of racial tension will happen in Malaysia once the Chinese totally abandon BN?

At DAP forum, Malaysians voice their thoughts on racial, religious tensions in the country – BY LEE SHI-IAN January 29, 2014

Will there be a repeat of the May 13 racial riots in this country?

No, businesswoman Cheryl Berenice Cheung told The Malaysian Insider, it is not likely given that many Malays were more savvy, more educated and knowledgeable, hence less likely to be swayed by mindless emotions.

“In the last general election, there were a fair number of Malays who voted for the opposition. I do not think that they will be easily swayed by the lies being spread around,” she said.

“Even in the rural areas, Cheryl said, the residents were updated by their children, many of whom worked in the city. They would not be easily susceptible to lies and half-truths.”

Cheung was one of about 50 people who attended a public forum, organised by the DAP at Wentworth Hotel last night, on the racial and religious tensions currently plaguing the country.

Richard Yeoh, on the other hand, believed that May 13 could become reality, either in a flare-up of spontaneous combustion manner, or orchestrated by certain parties. He expressed his concerns that there could be a repeat.

“The rakyat must stand together and firmly oppose any attempt to bring about a repeat of the May 13 racial riots. Such an event would benefit nobody and would be a major setback to Malaysia,” he said.

Also present was former Bersih co-chair Datuk S. Ambiga.

A member of the audience asked how the rakyat could express their feelings to Putrajaya. The attendee said it was difficult to get the message across.

Ambiga said the best way to get the message across was through the media, especially through online portals.

“The online news portals can reach a far wider audience than any of us. They are not called the Fourth Estate for nothing and they can get the message across effectively,” she said, revealing that she seldom read the mainstream media .

Ambiga gave an example, saying the recent suspension of newsweekly The Heat had prompted the media to get together and form a group called “Geram” to express their dissatisfaction.

“It was very effective as Geram voiced their unhappiness and frustration at how The Heat had been unfairly treated by the Home Ministry. Finally, the ban was lifted,” Ambiga said. – January 29, 2014.
The last May 13, I think, benefited the Malays, other Bumiputeras and UMNO a lot. Heap.

Lim Guan Eng must stop the tension building up in Penang that he started when he raised the kalimah Allah issue in his Christmas message in 2012.

Should any racial flare up occurs, Lim Guan Eng must be held responsible.

The Pandan pondan made Anwar stand for election in Kajang and now apologizes to the Kajang people for it.

Kajang by-election: Rafizi apologises to votersKajang voters, for the sudden by-election.

“I offer my sincerest apology to the Malaysian public especially the voters of Kajang. The by-election will certainly consume public money and public space at the time when the people have to go through economic hardship.

“There is no excuse for wasting public money except to offer my sincerest apology and for the party to be prepared if the voters of Kajang decide to punish us,” he said.

I hope the Kajang voters will punish them.

The man doesn’t sound confident or winning – even appears losing confidence.

How could they – they make the by election a main main thing – spending public money unnecessarily, expecting voters to spend time and money to go voting again, just to suit Al Juburi’s convenience. Last time his wife already resigned just to give the seat to be contested by husband Anwar. Now, again.

Who do they think they are? Totally irresponsible. Like that want to reach Putrajaya. Dear Kajang folks, don’t even vote him for the ADUN seat in Kajang.

The Pandan MP also said it pains him that PKR have to drag Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim through this and subject him to public anger. Wonder where the pain is – at he back or where.

On Monday, incumbent PKR’s Lee Chin Cheh announced he was vacating the Kajang state seat to strengthen the party. Clearly, PKR sudah rebeh diSelangor. Tak tahu bila akan tumbang terbongkang.

“I am also acutely aware of Datuk Ambiga’s advice communicated personally to me that we have to be as honest as possible with the people,” said he. Honest with the people? Got rebeh problems but now saying Anwar standing in Kajang to be near to Putrajaya? Wat cack is he talk? Ambiga, advice him some more, will ya.

Kajang by-election: PAS does not want Anwar to replace Khalid as MB

PAS has continued its attacks on PKR’s move to force a by-election in Kajang by fielding its top leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, an attempt allegedly to replace its Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

PAS Dewan Ulamak information chief Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said that the position of Mentri Besar was a decision made by the Islamist party, through its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

“Continuously questioning Khalid as a Mentri Besar means that they are questioning our president’s intelligence,” said Khairuddin, in a strongly-worded statement Wednesday.

He blamed the latest fiasco on “some PKR leaders” who failed to fulfil their personal interests under Khalid, who was known to be firm in managing the state finance.

Khairuddin was confident that the real reason behind the move was to replace the Mentri Besar by PKR and to avoid the position being taken up by PAS.

By right, the Mentri Besar position belongs to PAS as it held the majority of seats in the state with 15 seats , apart from its other ally, DAP, also with 15 seats. PKR has 13 seats.

Khalid was re-appointed as the Mentri Besar, on a consensus within Pakatan Rakyat, for the second term after May 5 general election judging from his performance in the first term.

“The purpose of this move is for PKR to prevent the position being taken up by PAS.

“This is an insult to our tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation),” he said, adding that it was a “sneaky” move.

“This shows that they put their party interest first instead of Pakatan Rakyat’s interest,” said Khairuddin who is also a Kuala Nerus MP.

Khairuddin also said that there was no reason to replace Khalid as MB as he has been administrating the state successfully.

He added that if there was a need to replace the top post, it would easily be given back to PAS, by appointing its Selangor party commissioner Iskandar Abdul Samad, who is a Cempaka assemblyman and a state exco.

“To be involved in a Kajang by-election just to fulfil Anwar’s agenda to become MB replacing Khalid is an insult to PAS. PAS shouldn’t let this to happen,” he said.

PAS has come out in full force condemning the “tactical” move by PKR since the resignation of its Kajang assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh on Monday.

They also claimed that they were kept in the dark and the decision was made by the top Pakatan leaders.
