For a Chief Minister who prides himself as the man of the people, Lim Guan Eng sure has gotten his hands into various private companies’ good books.
Last week, he was fighting for B Braun, a pharmaceutical business that claimed that they were not getting any contracts at Ministry of Health (MOH).
B Braun’s claims were dismissed by MOH who released a detailed statement listing all the contracts that Braun had won over the past years. One must wonder why LGE is so concerned about Braun specifically when there are so many other pharmas operating here in Malaysia.
Anyway, this week, LGE is fighting tooth and nail for Victoria Hospitals, a private firm that intends to build a hospital in Penang. LGE claimed a couple of days ago that MOH has never given any operator a permit to build new hospitals since DAP won in 2008.
He attempted to paint MOH as bias and unwilling to assist Penang in developing its health industry.
So before Malaysiakini happily prints a column on federal vs state politics, Stopthelies.my wants to make it clear that MOH has in fact given 4 permits for private hospitals in Penang since 2008.
But, this case is a bit different so the permit to allow building not so easy to get lah.
You see LGE wants this hospital to be built on land that is supposed to be for low cost housing. And he did not only want to build a private hospital…the hospital is supposed to act as a hotel too. To boost health tourism you see.
LGE’s excuse is that the plot of land is too small for low cost flats. But how can a land that is too small for low cost flats be big enough for a 30 storey complex?!
Let’s not forget that all this drama is at the expense of low cost housing. It may be a socialist party but DAP stopped caring about the poor long time ago.

Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein deserves more than RM10 salary cut motions in the forthcoming budget Parliament for his “transformation” from a “know nothing Minister” to “all knowing Minister” all in a matter of 24 hours.
This is the transformation of Hishammuddin before the eyes of 28 million Malaysians in his response to the wild and reckless speech by Special Branch’s assistant director of the E2 (M) national social extremist threat division head Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin to the National Youth Leaders Convention in Parliament last Thursday alleging that Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terrorists are infiltrating PAS and former communists infiltrating the DAP for the coming general election.
When asked on Friday, Hishammuddin put up the front that he is a Minister who knows nothing, pleading that he was “not sure” about the alleged infiltration of communists and terrorists into Pakatan Rakyat: “I don’t have the relevant information (about the issue) at the present moment. Therefore, I cannot say whether it is true or not. I can only say this much, this topic is very sensitive.”
When Hishammuddin was strongly criticized for his “most cowardly, craven and irresponsible response” to Sofian’s wild and reckless allegations and being “the lousiest Home Minister in the nation’s history”, as “how can a responsible Home Minister claim ignorance when a top Special Branch officer could go public to make the most damning allegations against Federal opposition parties?”, Hishammuddin performed a full somersault in 24 hours and claimed to be a “all knowing Minister”.
Hishammuddin said on Saturday that the “alleged infiltration” of JI terrorists and communists into Pakatan Rakyat is not at a level that would threaten the country’s security, saying:
“Right now, I am saying that the reports that have come to me, whatever penetration (in the opposition) as far as ideology is concerned, it does not affect the security, safety and stability of our nation. So don’t make it more than that.”
Asked whether the police had any evidence on the claim, Hishammuddin replied: “If it concerns national security, it is not just evidence, action must be taken and it has to be transparent and open. But if it is just an observation concerning involvement that does not threaten national security at this stage, then I am not worried.”
He added that what the Special Branch said were “merely facts”, adding “If it does not affect national security that we do not see it as a threat”.
Hishammuddin is not talking as a sane and sensible Home Minister but uttering gobbledegook because he was trying to defend the indefensible.
What are the “merely facts” that Hishammuddin is referring to with reference to Sofian’s allegations of JI terrorists infiltrating PAS and communists infiltrating DAP?
Hishammuddin and Sofian have been challenged to name names of JI terrorists who have infiltrated PAS and communists who have infiltrated DAP, and if they cannot name names, these allegations are not “merely facts” but downright lies and falsehoods arising from pure flights of Sofian’s imagination!
Instead of reprimanding and disciplining Sofian for abusing his Special Branch position to become the political pawns of Barisan Nasional, Hishammuddin tried to defend Sofian’s transgression by indulging in gobbledegook himself.
At the same time, he tried to appear as a “know all Minister” 24 hours after he told Malaysians that he was a “know nothing Minister” as far as the wild allegations were concerned.
Hishammuddin is proving to be quite a national disaster as a Home Minister.
Recently, he was afflicted with the serious denial complex denying that Malaysians have been gripped by escalating fear of crime as a result of rising crime incidents in the country – blaming it all on “perception” and the social media.
There can be no dispute that for the first time in the nation’s history, Malaysians feel unsafe in the country. This is in addition to the increasing fear of crime felt by Malaysians and foreign investors in the country.
This is another illustration where Hishammuddin wanted to project the image that he is a “know all Minister” when he appears to “know nothing” at all!
Hishammuddin does not appear to be on top of his Ministerial responsibility to ensure that the police must give top priority to their core functions of keeping crime low to allow Malaysians to feel safe in the country. Instead, he is condoning the waste of public funds and resources with the police trying to keep UMNO/Barisan Nasional in power, like Sofian’s wild and reckless allegations.
I heard that to from my late friend as he was from Port Dickson. He said that an MP brought the issue in Parliment and the day after everything quite down. But Lim Guan Eng had those treated as hire purchase and not entered in the State accounts as debt.

In Penang, LGE just make the Malays and Indians leave the island through his housing policy. He wants to make Penang another Singapore. Watch out, folks.
Yes, there have been differences among the DAP leadership. For over 40 years they could not get to rule any state on their own steam except for one solitary term and now rule Penang in coalition with PKR and PAS. They realized the anti-Malay and anti-Islam image the slogan Malaysian Malaysia have brought them. They thought of changing that to Middle Malaysia but the rakyat showed them the Middle Finger and that idea died out.
They tried to change the anti-Malay and anti-Islam image by bringing Malays into the party. Like Union leaders Zainal Rampak and Ahmad Noor of Cuepacs some time back. Zainal became a Senator and Ahmad Noor stood as DAP candidate for MP. They could not stand DAP leadership and bolted out. Then ex-Bank Negara Adviser Tunku Aziz joined, was appointed a Vice President and made a Senator. He also could not stand DAP leadership and bolted out in disgust, calling Lim Guang Eng “biadap”.
Yes, Lim Kit Siang’s calls for greater liberalisation and democratisation today is hypocritical. He and his son Lim Guan Eng have been known by the label “Cakap tak serupa bikin”.

The Star says the scarcity of land on Penang island had caused property prices to soar. No, it’s not true. Lim Guan Eng had about 100 acres of State land in Bayan Mutiara but he simply sold it to a property developer for RM1.07 billion, claiming it to be by open tender but the developer in their statement to the KL Stock Exchange mentioned about negotiations, making people ask whether any hanky panky and huge commissions were involved.
LGE could have got the Penang Development Corporation develop the land, build a good number of low cost units. The PDC has had a traditional role as a state government housing developer, like the Selangor State Development Corporation has been for Selangor. Now even what LGE calls “affordable homes” cannot be afforded by the Malays and the Indians.
Imagine, condominium units in Batu Ferringhi, Tanjung Bungah and Gurney Drive which front the sea are being sold at astronomical prices, in some cases beginning with RM2mil for a 1,000 sq ft unit. Prices of houses have rocketed from about RM500,000 in 2007 to approximately RM800,000 today. How many Malays and Indians can afford to buy these?

I will name my Hotel Hospital as Rainbow Hotel Hospital (RHH). It will bring the Fun; Enjoying and Treatment hospitality. My Idea (sorry for stealing this word often used by another Penang moron Paklah) came after my love experience with Rainbow and my forehead nearly blow by an asthray. In future my wife might not only throw an ashtray so it better preparing the umbrella before raining.
